A Little Princess, a Lot of Christmas Mischief, and a FREE Story! 🎄👑

Who doesn't love a free Christmas story? Especially one featuring a tiny princess who knows exactly what she wants—and has absolutely no intention of taking no for an answer! 😂

Meet two-year-old Kari Jamisco, a little girl with a big personality, a talent for mischief, and one very special person wrapped around her tiny finger: six-year-old Lucas Devilton.

Christmas at the Jamisco estate is filled with family, laughter, presents, delicious food, and just enough chaos to keep everyone on their toes.

And right in the middle of it all is Kari, making sure her beloved “Wucas” is never too far away.

The Princess Who Stole Christmas is a FREE, heartwarming holiday prequel to The Legacy Series. It's a chance to meet Kari and Lucas long before the secrets, heartbreak, romance, and suspense of Whispering Hope.

So grab your coffee, find a cozy spot, and spend a little Christmas with the Jamisco family.

And when you're ready to discover what happens to Kari and Lucas as they grow up, their story continues in Whispering Hope, Book One of The Legacy Series.

Happy reading!

Apparently, Writing a Book Was the Easy Part

When I decided to write a book, nobody warned me that becoming an author also meant becoming a marketing department, social media manager, website administrator, graphic designer, and apparently an expert in email technology.

Seriously. I just wanted to tell a story.

I had characters running around in my head, conversations happening at completely inappropriate times, and enough plot twists to make my imaginary people question their life choices.

So I wrote a book.

Whispering Hope, the first book in The Legacy Series, is officially out in the world.

And apparently, that was the easy part.

Because now I have to convince people to actually read the damn thing.

You would think writing an entire novel would be the difficult part of becoming an author. Nope. Not even close.

Writing the book meant sitting down with my coffee, opening my computer, and letting my characters cause problems.

Marketing the book means figuring out algorithms, hashtags, newsletters, reader groups, promotional platforms, and why every website on the planet seems determined to charge me $9.99 for something.

Meanwhile, my characters are sitting in the corner demanding that I finish their next adventure.

Excuse me, Kari. Some of us are trying to run a business here.

And then there's Wilbert.

For anyone who hasn't met him yet, Wilbert is my imaginary, overcaffeinated squirrel who represents what happens when an ADHD brain is given unlimited access to ideas and absolutely no adult supervision.

He's currently in charge of marketing.

This was probably a mistake.

His first suggestion was to run through the neighborhood throwing copies of my book at unsuspecting pedestrians.

We are exploring other options.

👑 Meanwhile, a Little Princess Has Entered the Chat

While I've been working on Book Two, another idea decided to move into my brain without paying rent.

A prequel.

Because apparently, having one published book, another in progress, a blog, and a squirrel with questionable judgment wasn't enough.

It's called The Princess Who Stole Christmas, and it takes readers back to a time when Kari Blake was just two years old.

A tiny princess with a big personality, an impressive collection of opinions, and a six-year-old Lucas Devilton who was already completely wrapped around her little finger.

It's sweet, funny, and full of family moments.

And yes, there are tiaras.

Because of course there are.

I'm planning to offer it as a free gift to readers once everything is ready.

Consider it your invitation into the world of The Legacy Series.

📚 So, What's Next?

My current mission is pretty simple.

Find readers.

Not become an internet celebrity. Not master seventeen social media platforms. Not sacrifice my remaining sanity to the algorithm gods.

Just find people who enjoy a good story, memorable characters, a little romance, some family chaos, and the occasional moment that makes them want to yell at their Kindle.

If that sounds like you, I'd love for you to meet Kari and Lucas.

Whispering Hope: Book One of The Legacy Series is available now on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited.

👉 Read Whispering Hope on Amazon:   WHISPERING HOPE : Book One of The Legacy Series - Kindle edition by AUBREY, MELINDA . Romance Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.

And keep an eye on the blog, because The Princess Who Stole Christmas will be making her grand entrance soon.

Until then, I'll be over here drinking coffee, editing Book Two, and trying to explain to Wilbert that throwing books at strangers is not an acceptable marketing strategy.

Probably.

Whispering Hope: Where It All Began

Every story has a beginning. Mine started with a girl named Kari, a boy named Lucas, and a whole lot of characters who apparently decided they were in charge.

If you've spent any time around Coffee, Chaos & Characters, you've probably already figured out that my brain doesn't believe in doing things the easy way.

I could have started with a simple little story.

Something sweet. Something predictable. Something where everybody behaved themselves and the characters politely followed the plot.

Yeah. That didn't happen.

Instead, I ended up creating an entire world, a cast of characters with more opinions than I know what to do with, and a story that refused to stay inside the boundaries of a single book.

And that's how Whispering Hope, the first novel in my Legacy Series, came to life.

Meet Kari and Lucas

At the heart of Whispering Hope are Kari and Lucas, two characters who have become incredibly special to me.

Their story is about more than romance. It's about family, belonging, the secrets people carry, and the kind of love that can change everything.

Kari's life hasn't exactly been a walk through a field of daisies. There are pieces of her past that have shaped who she is, questions that deserve answers, and a future that's more complicated than she could have imagined.

And then there's Lucas.

Let's just say he's not the kind of character who quietly sits on the sidelines when someone he cares about needs him.

Together, they begin a journey filled with emotion, surprises, laughter, and enough complications to keep me reaching for another cup of coffee.

I'm not giving away the good stuff, though. You'll have to read the book for that.

Why I Love Writing This Series

One of my favorite things about writing is watching characters become more than names on a page.

They develop personalities. They argue. They make terrible decisions. Occasionally, they even surprise the person who's supposed to be writing their story.

Somewhere along the way, Kari, Lucas, and their families became a whole world I wasn't ready to leave behind.

That's why Whispering Hope is only the beginning.

The Legacy Series continues beyond Book One, with more secrets to uncover, relationships to explore, and adventures waiting around the corner.

And believe me, these characters are nowhere near finished causing trouble.

My First Published Novel

Seeing Whispering Hope available on Amazon was one of those moments I'll never forget.

There's something surreal about taking a story that's lived in your head, putting all those words onto pages, and finally being able to say, "I wrote a book."

Not just started one.

Not just talked about writing one.

Actually finished it and published it.

Of course, my brain celebrated by immediately reminding me that I had more books to finish.

Thanks, brain. Very helpful.

But I'm proud of this first step, and I'm excited to share the world of the Legacy Series with readers.

Come Meet the Family

If you enjoy romance, family secrets, emotional moments, a little suspense, and characters who occasionally have absolutely no respect for their author's plans, I'd love for you to give Whispering Hope a chance.

Whispering Hope — The Legacy Series, Book One — is available on Amazon.

And if you do read it, I'd love to hear what you think. Reviews mean so much to independent authors, especially those of us building our readership one book at a time.

Thank you for being here, for supporting my writing adventures, and for putting up with the squirrels.

Now, if you'll excuse me, Book Two is calling.

Rather loudly, actually.
