Apparently, Writing a Book Was the Easy Part

When I decided to write a book, nobody warned me that becoming an author also meant becoming a marketing department, social media manager, website administrator, graphic designer, and apparently an expert in email technology.

Seriously. I just wanted to tell a story.

I had characters running around in my head, conversations happening at completely inappropriate times, and enough plot twists to make my imaginary people question their life choices.

So I wrote a book.

Whispering Hope, the first book in The Legacy Series, is officially out in the world.

And apparently, that was the easy part.

Because now I have to convince people to actually read the damn thing.

You would think writing an entire novel would be the difficult part of becoming an author. Nope. Not even close.

Writing the book meant sitting down with my coffee, opening my computer, and letting my characters cause problems.

Marketing the book means figuring out algorithms, hashtags, newsletters, reader groups, promotional platforms, and why every website on the planet seems determined to charge me $9.99 for something.

Meanwhile, my characters are sitting in the corner demanding that I finish their next adventure.

Excuse me, Kari. Some of us are trying to run a business here.

And then there's Wilbert.

For anyone who hasn't met him yet, Wilbert is my imaginary, overcaffeinated squirrel who represents what happens when an ADHD brain is given unlimited access to ideas and absolutely no adult supervision.

He's currently in charge of marketing.

This was probably a mistake.

His first suggestion was to run through the neighborhood throwing copies of my book at unsuspecting pedestrians.

We are exploring other options.

👑 Meanwhile, a Little Princess Has Entered the Chat

While I've been working on Book Two, another idea decided to move into my brain without paying rent.

A prequel.

Because apparently, having one published book, another in progress, a blog, and a squirrel with questionable judgment wasn't enough.

It's called The Princess Who Stole Christmas, and it takes readers back to a time when Kari Blake was just two years old.

A tiny princess with a big personality, an impressive collection of opinions, and a six-year-old Lucas Devilton who was already completely wrapped around her little finger.

It's sweet, funny, and full of family moments.

And yes, there are tiaras.

Because of course there are.

I'm planning to offer it as a free gift to readers once everything is ready.

Consider it your invitation into the world of The Legacy Series.

📚 So, What's Next?

My current mission is pretty simple.

Find readers.

Not become an internet celebrity. Not master seventeen social media platforms. Not sacrifice my remaining sanity to the algorithm gods.

Just find people who enjoy a good story, memorable characters, a little romance, some family chaos, and the occasional moment that makes them want to yell at their Kindle.

If that sounds like you, I'd love for you to meet Kari and Lucas.

Whispering Hope: Book One of The Legacy Series is available now on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited.

And keep an eye on the blog, because The Princess Who Stole Christmas will be making her grand entrance soon.

Until then, I'll be over here drinking coffee, editing Book Two, and trying to explain to Wilbert that throwing books at strangers is not an acceptable marketing strategy.

Probably.
